Your Outfits

So you’ve booked your session and now you’re thinking, “What are we going to wear!?” The best advice I can give you is to dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable and represents you. For family sessions, I recommend picking out one outfit first (how about yours, mom) and then coordinate the remaining outfits with your originally selected outfit.

Be aware of clothing that reveals under garments (bra straps especially), wrinkles easily, bunches, or shows sweat. For girls, a longer dress is sometimes better as some of your images may include seated poses. Please try to avoid large logos on clothing such as "Gap" or "Nike", as well as very large bright patterns as they can detract from your images.

For maternity sessions, it's best to wear clothing that accentuates your beautiful bump.

Feel free to bring accessories along such as hats, scarves or other items you love. Bringing an extra one or two outfits can really help to add variety to your images.

During the cooler months in Saudi, layering can add a lot more variety in your images (as you add a scarf or hat between images).

Shopping for outfits leading up to your session can be tricky in Saudi Arabia, but doesn't have to be impossible. Here's a list of stores I recommend for your clothing needs.

  • Gap and Old Navy have a wide array of styles and fits for the whole family.
  • Oysho is my number one favorite store in the Middle East for women's flowy dresses (but they only sell these with their spring and summer lines).
  • ASOS ships worldwide for free and accepts returns too! This was my go-to for maternity clothing and found the pricing to be reasonable.
  • A lot of clients tell me they ship clothing in from the USA either purchased through Amazon.com directly or via a freight forwarder such as MyUs.com. Please note: some retailers will not ship to a freight forwarder.

If you have a store that you love (either in KSA or online), I would love for you to share the details with me!
