Why You Should Schedule a Multi-Generation Family Portrait | Victoria BC Family Photographer
Summer holidays can mean a calendar filled with family get-togethers, including birthday celebrations, family reunions, and trips to visit Grandparents — all of which are perfect opportunities to document family memories with a professional photographer while everyone is together! Although coordinating extended family photos can feel a bit daunting, I’m here to share my top three reasons why you should consider scheduling a multi-generational family photo session:
1: Legacy Matters
Photographs are such an important way to pass memories and stories on to future generations. Documenting your time spent with your extended family creates images and memories that will be shared for generations to come.
2: Your Parents
When was the last time you were photographed professionally with your parents? What about your grandparents? Extended family sessions make it easy to capture your family in a number of different ways. In my session posing flow, I always make sure to capture grandparents with grandchildren, a full family image, an image of just grandma and grandpa and all sorts of variations in between.
3: Great Gifts for Your Family
Extended family sessions are a special experience for your whole family, making it a fun way to create easy gifts from the images you order. You can create an album or gift the grandparents a framed portrait. Even better, the same photos work perfectly for your Christmas photos — win win!
