Family Session Share: An Adoption Story in Victoria BC

I’m so excited to share this beautiful family’s session on the blog today! Where to begin? Perhaps I should rewind a bit to first share how I met Ally!
When I was brand new to Vancouver Island in 2018, I was super keen to meet new people and connect with other photographers. So when I learned about a local event for photographers, I did not hesitate to sign up. Ally is a photographer and happened to be at the same photography meet up I attended so I was able to learn more about her as we walked around downtown with our cameras!
After the photography walk, I started following Ally on Instagram where I learned that she and her family were on an adoption journey with their sweet little lady. So as soon as I received the good news that I was an official volunteer photographer with Found Families (a wonderful organization that provides free family photography sessions, through a national network of volunteer photographers to families who have recently adopted a child), I didn’t hesitate to reach out to Ally to let her know about this option being available to her family!
I met up with Ally and her family for their photo session at Esquimalt Lagoon because it’s one of their favourite beaches to visit as a family. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed meeting up with Ally and her family on that late afternoon in March that was FILLED with sunshine!
It was such a delight to get to know their sweet family better during their session and capture the incredible love they have for each other.
