1: Dream & Design
This is where your vision comes to life. Once you've booked your session and filled out your questionnaire, I'll dive into your answers and create some personalized location suggestions that fit your family's unique style.
From sun-drenched beaches to golden fields, we'll choose the perfect backdrop together and I'll send you tips on styling to ensure everyone looks and feels their best.
2: The Session: Relax & Connect
Forget stiff poses and forced smiles. This is a time for your family to connect, laugh, and simply be. During our time together, I'll use a mix of fun prompts and gentle direction to capture the honest, in-between moments. I'll make sure everyone feels comfortable and at ease, so your photos are filled with genuine emotions and real-life magic.
3: Your Story, Ready to Share
The wait is never too long! Within three weeks of your session, your beautiful online gallery will be ready for viewing. You'll be able to see all of your expertly edited images and relive the moments we captured. From there, you'll select your favorite images and apply your included product credit toward stunning digital files or heirloom-quality prints and products that will become a treasured part of your home.

Once you book your session, I will send you some getting ready tips to help you prepare for the session which includes wardrobe styling advice. One of my tips is that I recommend your family wears colours and outfits that compliment one another instead of matching.

The location we use for your family photos will depend on the look and feel of the images you want to create as well as the time of day for best lighting.
I dive into this topic in your pre-session questionnaire and your preferences will help me determine the best options for your family. We will make sure to find a location that is absolutely perfect for your family.

I love when family dogs join the photo session! I recommend bringing some favourite treats or squeaky toys to help me get your pup's attention.

The booking process is very easy and straightforward. Once your family has decided to schedule your session with me, I send you a link to my booking calendar where you can choose the best available date and time that works for your family. I also ask a few questions at the time of booking through the questionnaire to learn more about your family and the images you wish to create to recommend the best meeting location for your family's photos. A $200 non-refundable booking deposit is also required to secure your family session date and time, with the remaining balance of the session due 24 hours prior to your scheduled session.

The forecast can be consistently unreliable for Victoria, so I always check multiple hourly forecasts first thing the day of a scheduled shoot to see how things are looking. If the weather looks less than ideal for your scheduled time, I will reach out to discuss rescheduling options.

I live in Langford, BC and my outdoor family photo sessions typically take place within the greater Victoria area to incorporate the stunning Vancouver Island landscapes. Travel fees apply for sessions more than 30 km outside of the V9B area code.

RAW and unedited files are not included in family sessions. Hiring a professional photographer means receiving a professional experience from start to finish. Each family session package includes a specific number of full resolution, retouched JPEG images with options available to purchase additional full resolution, retouched JPEG files.

The images you choose that are included in your session as well as any additional orders you may wish to make at that time will be archived for 1 year. Images that are not purchased at the time of image selection will not be retrievable at a later date.
