Family Mini Sessions in Victoria BC
Memories made in 15 minutes
Not every season calls for a full session. Sometimes you just want to show up, spend 15 minutes in good light, and walk away with 5 photos to enjoy to mark this season in your life.
Fall 2026 dates are open now across three Victoria locations. Spots are limited.
15 minutes, one location, 5 images edited in my signature style.
Since 2012 I've photographed hundreds of families. I know how to move quickly without it feeling rushed and how to find the real moments even in a short window of time. Some families book a mini every year just to mark the season. Others use it as a way to try a session before committing to something bigger.
Either way, it's a low-pressure way to get something beautiful.
What to Expect
Simple from start to finish, here's how it works.
-

Before your session
Once you book, you'll receive a confirmation with everything you need: where to meet, what to wear, and what to expect. Location and timing are pre-set so there's nothing to figure out on your end.
-

During your session
Fifteen minutes goes faster than you think, in a good way. I'll guide everything with gentle prompts and movement-based direction. You just show up and be your family. I find the moments from there.
-

After your session
Within three weeks, you'll receive your proofing gallery. Select your five favourite images and I'll deliver each one in colour and black and white, professionally edited and ready to download.

Esquimalt Lagoon
A beautiful ocean backdrop and that wide open beach light. For families who want something that feels a little more coastal: driftwood, water, and sky.
-

Mount Doug
Stunning light and views that go on forever. Mount Doug has an epic quality that makes even a quick session feel significant: the kind of backdrop that stops people when they see your photos.
-

Elk Lake Field
That golden straw field in the right light is pure magic. Warm, glowing, and completely Victoria. This one photographs like nothing else on the island.
Hi, I’m Erin.
15 minutes sounds short. And it is, intentionally.
I've been doing this long enough to know that the best moments don't need a lot of time. They need someone who knows how to find them quickly. A mini session isn't a compromise on a full session. It's its own thing: contained, focused, and surprisingly complete.
I'll handle the location, the light, and the direction. You just show up with your family and let the 15 minutes do what 15 minutes with good light and no pressure tends to do.

FAQ
Frequently Asked questions about Victoria BC family Mini sessions
Still wondering about something? Feel free to reach out. I'm just an email away and happy to help you figure out what session is the right fit.
What should we wear for family photos?
That’s up to you! But, I highly suggest picking one favourite outfit and running with a complimentary colour palette for the rest of your group.
How is a mini session different from a full session?
A mini session is shorter and includes fewer images: 15 minutes and 5 photos versus 60 minutes and 25 images. It's a great option for families who want something simple, or who want to try a session before committing to a larger package next time. If you're looking for more variety, more time, or more images, the Signature Session is worth a look.
Are mini sessions suitable for extended families or larger groups?
Mini sessions are designed for immediate family only — the people who live under the same roof. 15 minutes moves quickly, and it's structured around smaller groups. If you're planning to include grandparents, cousins, or additional guests, the Signature or Heirloom sessions give you the time and space to do that properly. Not sure which fits? Reach out before booking.
How would you describe your photography style?
I believe that family photography sessions should be fun, relaxed, and a stress free experience. Your outdoor family short story session will include a pre-determined beautiful location where we document your family’s authentic interactions and laughter.
I love to incorporate a combination of candid and lightly posed portraits, focused on your love and connection as a family.
What if it rains?
I watch the forecast closely the morning of every session. If conditions look poor, I'll reach out and we'll find a better date: no penalties, no stress.
