Headshot Resources: 3 Quick Ways to Help You Have an Easy and Relaxed Headshot Photo Shoot

3 Easy Ways To Have A Laid Back and Relaxed Headshot Session | Victoria BC Professional Portrait Photographer

We all want to have a professional profile photo that we love to use, right? Well, here’s the secret… all it takes is these few simple steps leading up to your session, and then leave the rest up to me:

Hair:

Avoid scheduling your headshot session immediately after making a drastic change to your hairstyle. If you are planning on getting a new style of bangs, chopping off more than just a couple of inches, or trying out a whole new hair colour all together, I recommend scheduling your headshot session for at least one week after your hair appointment so that you have time to see how you like to style your hair best.

Outfit:

Make sure you try on your outfits for your headshot session 2-3 days leading up to your session to ensure it fits, you love it, and there are no wrinkles that need ironing.

When clients ask me what they should wear for their headshots, I usually recommend wearing what you feel best in and choosing an outfit that your clients would normally see you wearing.

Makeup:

Wear your makeup the way your colleagues, clients, or prospective employer would see you day-to-day so that your online image matches with your in-person look for recognizability.

Are you ready to update your professional profiles with a new headshot image? Send me a note and we’ll work together.
